Do you have an idea for a new mobile application?
It seems everyone has a great idea for an app these days, but executing it well (that is designing, developing, marketing, and supporting the application) are all important aspects of making a mobile app a success on the Android Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
Firefly have been developing applications for our clients around the world and have created this helpful guide on how to design your mobile application in 2019.
Let’s take a look at some of the most important aspects involved in turning your idea into a reality.
Look around you, if you’re in a public place, no doubt there are people on their mobile phones. So, I don’t have to tell you that people today are engaging with phone screens more than ever.
Latest data shows the average mobile users spend at least five hours on mobile every day. Most of that time is spent on websites or on mobile applications.
“Think of your end user, think user experience.”
Now, what makes a good app is the quality of its user experience (UX).
A good UX is the difference between a successful and an unsuccessful app.
If you designing an app, you should first consider the UX to be the most important first step your initial design and an essential mechanism for the success of your app.
Here are some things you should consider when designing a mobile application in 2019, we’ve not gone into the coding, marketing or support aspects in this guide.
But if you’d like to find out more about what we do visit the web and app design pageon our website.

My hope is that this short guide has been helpful for you to understand what it takes to begin taking your idea from concept to a full blown mobile application.
Finally, here’s my favourite quote from a well known figure in the world of mobile.
Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works
