Business Card Layout
Thinking of a business card layout should be one of the first things considered when you decide to go ahead with producing a business card for your business. The layout, style, size, shape etc. are all important aspects of the overall design which can ultimately affect how beneficial the business card is for the business. That’s not to say that there’s one standard for what is and isn’t a good layout, every company will benefit from different aspects in varying ways – smaller and more condensed cards for some businesses whereas more graphically appealing large cards for others.
Necessary Features
There’s a range of information that most business cards would benefit from containing to ensure some basic level of success, this includes;

Contact Information – telephone number, premises address, email address, website URL

Business Name – full or acronymed version of the business name

Business Logo – some form of the current business logo for customer reassurance

Business Branding – branding consistent with other forms of media such as website/social media.
Of course some businesses will certainly not need all of this information and, in some cases, entirely different feature will be required for businesses with different goals and objectives – however generally some selection of the aforementioned points is suggested.
Additional Information
If the style and type of business card layout allows for additional information and features to be displayed in a way that is graphically appealing and doesn’t detract from the main focus of the card, which should of course be the business name/logo and the most advisable form of communication, then it can be beneficial to add additional information and features such as images, mission statement, tagline, or a brief explanation of the nature of the business.
Any and all information that can be added to improve the usability for the client and the business itself is always a positive, as long as it doesn’t have a negative impact on what is considered essential to the business card.
